Your promo email

Fill in the release details and press Write the email. Three subject lines, a preview line and the email text appear here.

  1. Subject: artist, title and catalogue number
  2. Who sent it, what it is and when it is out
  3. The link to the music, then the track list
  4. Your notes and the release details
  5. What you ask for, the link again, your name

Send it with Dubsend

Personal promo pages, listening stats and feedback for each DJ. Dubsend builds this email from your release details and sends the reminders for you.

How the email is built

The email follows the order in which a DJ looks for things on a phone screen. The DJ promo email template guide explains each part.

  1. Subject line: the artist, the title and the catalogue number in brackets, the format DJs search their inbox for. The other two options add the label name or what you ask for.
  2. First lines: who sent it, what the release is and when it is out, then the link to the music before any notes.
  3. Track list and notes: the versions with their lengths, your one line on the sound and the artists it sits next to.
  4. Release details: genre, label, release date and catalogue number on one line, so DJs can file the promo.
  5. The ask: one plain sentence on what you would like back, then the link again for people who read to the end.

Before you send it

  • Replace [first name] and [link to your promo page] in the email text.
  • Send each DJ their own email. Never put a list of DJs in the To or Cc field.
  • Link to a page where DJs stream and download. Don't attach the files: large attachments bounce or land in spam.
  • Send at most two reminders, and stop as soon as someone listens or replies.

Questions

Is the promo email generator free?

Yes. It works in your browser and needs no account. Nothing you type is sent to Dubsend.

Does the generator send the email?

No. It writes the subject lines and the email text. Copy them into the tool you send with, and replace the first name and the link to your promo page.

Why does the first subject line end with the catalogue number?

DJs search their inbox for promos by artist, title and catalogue number, and stores show releases the same way. Using one format for every promo makes your emails easy to recognise and to find later.

Where is my draft saved?

In this browser on this device, so the form is still filled in when you come back. Clear the form removes it. If your browser blocks storage, the generator still works and nothing is saved.
